While subtle, it signifies WRAS Approval, one of the clearest ways a plumbing product can demonstrate it meets the UK's water fittings regulations. It can be the difference between a product your plumber can legally install and one that leaves them in breach of the regulations, making it an essential consideration when selecting tapware for your next bathroom, kitchen, or utility room project.

Issued by Water Regulations Approval Scheme Ltd (WRAS), the approval demonstrates compliance with Regulation 4 of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, which govern how plumbing systems and water fittings must be designed, installed, and maintained in England and Wales, with equivalent requirements set out in Scotland's Water Byelaws 2014 and Northern Ireland's Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 2009.
