ABI Interiors Partners with Furnishing Futures to Enrich Lives by Enriching Spaces

ABI Interiors is proud to announce our new partnership with Furnishing Futures, a UK charity on a mission to create healing homes for women and children who have escaped domestic abuse.
Every year, thousands of vulnerable families are placed in social housing after long waits and traumatic experiences. But these homes often arrive empty — no beds, no kitchen appliances, sometimes not even flooring. For those already carrying emotional scars, an unfurnished home can deepen the sense of instability and worthlessness.
At ABI Interiors, we believe that everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to call home. Through product donations, fundraising, and hands-on support, this partnership is a meaningful way for us to live our mission of enriching lives by enriching spaces.
The Problem of Furniture Poverty

More than 14 million people in the UK are affected by furniture poverty. Shockingly, less than 2% of social housing comes furnished, and being forced to buy these essential items can push families further into long-term debt.
At the same time, an estimated 22 million pieces of furniture go to landfill annually — many of them in new or near-new condition. Furnishing Futures bridges this gap by rescuing high-quality pieces from the interiors industry and using them to create safe, comfortable homes for families in need.
Each space is created with care to be not only functional but truly restorative. It’s a sustainable solution to two unsustainable problems — furniture poverty and industry waste.
How We’re Supporting Furnishing Futures

In June 2025, five members of the ABI Interiors team visited the Furnishing Futures warehouse in East London to lend a hand. They spent the day organising, merchandising, and staging pieces ahead of an upcoming warehouse sale, where donated items unsuitable for homes are sold to raise funds for the charity’s work. All proceeds go directly back into creating fully furnished homes for families in need.
This volunteer day gave our team a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible impact of the Furnishing Futures team, which has grown from just three staff in 2019 to nine today — a small but mighty force of good.

“We are thrilled to partner with ABI Interiors and grateful for their support in tackling furniture poverty,” says Emily Wheeler, CEO and Founder of Furnishing Futures.
“Their contributions will help us transform even more empty houses into homes where families can heal and rebuild their lives.”

As part of our ongoing partnership, we will donate 20 bathroom accessory starter packs every quarter. Each set includes a Chrome Kingsley Toilet Roll Holder, Hand Towel Holder, and Single Towel Rail to support the renovation of up to 80 social housing units per year.
We’ll also be taking part in upcoming charity fun runs and other fundraising events, continuing to support Furnishing Futures in both practical and financial ways. At ABI Interiors, we believe everyone deserves a home that feels safe, welcoming, and dignified — and we’re proud to be working with Furnishing Futures to help make that a reality.
